Cookies & Local Storage Policy

What this app uses
The app does not set advertising or marketing cookies. It uses first-party localStorage and browser memory for operational preferences and the features described here. The hosting environment may have its own necessary infrastructure cookies or logs.
Operational storage
lifeinvader_preferences_v1 records onboarding acknowledgement and the optional statistics choice. Existing editor storage keeps theme and item search usage. lifeinvader_mcp_banner_hidden_until_v1 remembers a dismissed AI connection banner for 24 hours. lifeinvader_pending_ads_v1 stores unsynced completed copies so a connection failure does not silently lose them. Synced copies leave the pending queue.
Necessary export session
When you activate an export license, li_export_license is a first-party HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict cookie, Secure on the production HTTPS site. It contains an opaque session token, not the license key. It lasts up to 30 days or the license expiry. No plaintext key is saved in localStorage. Clearing site data requires entering the same key again; reactivation succeeds only if the server recognizes the same browser/device estimate. Public editing remains available without this cookie.
Optional statistics
After consent, lifeinvader_country_v1 caches only the country code and expiry for up to 24 hours. The app also reads coarse platform/timezone/screen/core-count data and sends it for a daily server-side hashed device estimate. Country lookup uses trusted hosting geography, with ipwho.is as a fallback. No optional lookup or heartbeat runs before opt-in.
Change your choice
Privacy settings lets you enable or disable optional activity statistics at any time. You can clear localStorage using your browser’s site-data settings. Clearing browser data also discards unsynced copies; export them first if you need them. Blocking storage may prevent preferences and offline retries from persisting.
